Societal Security as Tool for Understanding Conflicts

Summary/Abstract: Security dilemma concept presents the actions a state uses in order to strengthen is security and which generates an insecurity perceptions among other states trying to balance this perception. The result is an escalation of defense means achieved by both actors trying to overcome the gap of insecurity perception and resources needed to reduce the perceived threats. Therefore, the substance of this concept consists in the escalading dynamic based on ambiguity and incertitude.
