Summary/Abstract: In the paper the author presents the strategy of transformation of the service company OPEC Gdynia. The company's core business is in the production, transmission, distribution and sale of heat. OPEC Gdynia’s board of directors create new organization by the transformation of the company from the production oriented into the client oriented. The successful strategy was the result of changes in management philosophy and the organization’s transformation from the company distributing heat into the company providing services to the customer. What’s more the transformation process was realized during the in-depth and turbulent conditions in the socio-economic transformation in Poland.
