Summary/Abstract: The article illustrates part of Princess’s Ileana unique correspondence. Alice Grunau, best friend and confidant, who helped the Princess to organize the „Society of Christian Women”, and whose godmother for her and her children was the Princess herself, saved and guarded all Princess Ileana’s letters of youth. It is, therefore, the story of two great friends, depicted in letters never published before. While reading this correspondence, today published only letters between 1928-1931, a unique portrait of the Princess is unveiled, the „blue-eyed child” so attached to her mother, Queen Marie, mentioned in almost each letter. The letters describe some of the Romanian Royal family’s private life moments, spent in Bucharest, Cotroceni, Sinaia or Balcic. Reading them, Princess Ileana’s feelings, emotions, experiences and memories start coming to life.
