Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to determine the role of consumption communication on parents’ co-shopping, role modeling and yielding request tendencies. Besides, it is determined the role of consumption communication on the food consumption of children. A questionnaire was applied 373 parents having children aged 6-16. In this study it is utilised explanatory factor analysis to test the framework of consumption communication. Then, participants were grouped with respect of their consumption communication tendencies. Participants seem to prefer the most consensual communication style when communicating with their children on consumption issues. It seems that there are some differences between laissez faire, protective, pluralistic and consensual parents. Consensual parents have positive profile with respect to role modeling, coshopping and refusing the demands. On the other hand, laissez faire parents have negative profile in comparasion with the other parents.
