After brief presentation of the notions used both in the title and in the course of the article, there has been presented two companies which were long monopolists in their home market and which are presently forced not only to compete within their native area, but also share the ambition to dominate in other regions. Both companies have similar organization structure, yet they seem to differ when the organization culture and the yearly results are concerned. That is why there have been proposed some possible ways of changes thanks to which it would be possible to increase the competitiveness not only when one considers new markets, but also in the situation when the home market changes fast enough to force actions different from the previously effective ones.
