Summary/Abstract: The fundamental requirements for editing radio news can be encompassed in four points: correct (does not hush up information), objective (impartial, even-handed), precise (accurate, concise), understandable(clear, unmistakable). In the radio news the lead contains the most important information, the newest developments and continues towards the less important details. The news editor’s task and responsibility is not only the quick and precise conveyance of a given event, but also the mediation of understandee-understandable. The listener should create a clear image on the given event, as close to reality as possible.
