Summary/Abstract: In this article, the authors, the members of collecting societies Pergamon, discusses some measures that should be taken by the Romanian legislator regarding the rights and interests of authors of written works. In this regard, the bill amending the lege ferenda Act no. 8/1996 on copyright and related rights, with subsequent amendments, as it is today. Legislative proposals for the aim of work of the authors writing in reference to Article 25 of the Law on public borrowing and copying work activity having a main impact on the authors in the field of management companies collective and publishers. However, the authors note that the provisions of Law no. 8/1996 on copyright and related rights in respect to works of authors can be improved and adapted to current realities of the market. Similarly, it should be born in mind that the authors of written works, as well as all categories of authors and holders of related rights should be compensated fairly and symbolically appropriate uses of their works on hand can not be controlled (private copying, photocopy), and on the other hand, have not been implemented in practice (public lending). The authors consider that the bill ferenda could be considered by the legislature in Romania for better transposition of EU legislation in the field, to represent and protect the rights and interests of the authors of written works in Romania.
