Summary/Abstract: International Bat Night; Neretva; Bregava; Greather horseshoe bat Rhinolophus ferrueqmuinum; Blasius's horseshoe bat Rhinolophus blasii; HerzegovinaWith the help of the project "Protection of bats in the Neretva River Catchment Area"; during the second half of the 2013. several activities have conducted which aimed at monitoring and bat protection; as well as raising awareness among the local community and the administration about the importance of bats. In that period it was organized the first International Bat Night; a film was made about bats which was shown on several TV stations and it was published a brochure about bats. Beside these activities; it was held a training for young researchers on which occasion was discovered a large number of new species. Two colonies of Greather horseshoe bat Rhinolophus ferrueqmuinum was discovered in Drenovačka cave and in the canyon Bregava near Stolac; and; perhaps; maternity colony of Blasius's horseshoe bat Rhinolophus blasii in a cave Prosječenica on Podveležje.
