Summary/Abstract: A. Tarkovsky is one of the most important figures of modern film. However the concept of authorship connected to modernism is seemingly far from literature and literary representations,especially the adaptation. The essay tries to answer the question: why is important to sketch the literary background of Tarkovsky’s works, and to single out the literary adaptation present in his work.
