Summary/Abstract: The article regards the religious and social commitment of Poles in local parishes. In our times parishes undergo transformations, especially in large cities, where interpersonal bonds vanish and interpersonal contacts have a formal nature. According to CBOS information, these still are decisive for the majority of examined centers of the religious life: 70% of Poles declare regular participation at Mass, other services and religious meetings; at the same time 40% of respondents declare participation in cultural and sports-tourist events, organized by parish centers. In the religious life of Poles, a new phenomenon has appeared, called churching, although it regards at the present moment 6% of Poles, it is gaining in importance.
