Summary/Abstract: In the postmodern paradigm, the Serbian literature has provided significant examples of creative relationships for forms and models already existing in the world literature. The Serbian postmodern prose fiction as a compact and artistically valuable phenomenon is based on the two traditional literary sources: the indigenous and the universal one. After the death of Milorad Pavić, the most representative Serbian postmodernist writer, who is unequaled and difficult to overcome because of his notoriety, the Serbian postmodernists have made their option for experimental discourse-based differences for the sake of fiction's truthfulness, which demonstrates that postmodernism has not died yet and that it still has resources in the national specificity. The article analyzes the artistic contribution of authors such as Radoslav Petković, Sava Damjanov and Svetislav Basara.
