Summary/Abstract: Coping of job loss is very individual and is contingent on several factors. The risk factor in relation to get over long-term unemployment is the existence of poverty, mainly concentrated and generationally reproduced poverty. In our contribution we will discuss the characteristics of life strategies of unem-ployed, the results of research aimed at identifying the causes and conse-quences of long-term unemployment and the use of active labor market measures for long-term unemployed in poverty in the region with high long-term unemployment and the recommendations in relation to the cultivation of life strategies long-term unemployed in material distress.
