Summary/Abstract: Purpose – the assessment of the extent to which changes in the financial reporting standard influence bankruptcy prediction models for economic entities. Design/Methodology/approach – the analysis was based on the financial performance of 24 companies selected at random and listed on the NewConnect market, chosen due to a high degree of predictability of bankruptcy models for economic entities. Findings – the change in the financial reporting standard did not influence significantly bankruptcy risk assessment of a company, proven by no deviations between the values of discriminative models calculated for the data included in the ‘former’ and the ‘new’ financial report. Originality/value – the value of the research paper results from the research subject itself because there are relatively few publications discussing the consequences of the Accounting Act Amendment in the context of the influence these changes may have on bankruptcy risk assessment for economic entities.
