Fantasy and Fiction: Notes on a Clinical Case

Summary/Abstract: This text aims at retracing the memory of a psychoanalytical cure of a child by approaching the dimensions of fantasy and fiction. It relies on a very specific psychoanalytical procedure, i.e. the clinical practice. In a message the child wrote to her analyst, where she reveals her anxiety, we found elements from her reading experience of a piece of writing by Jules Verne. The novel allowed the child to tell his fears. Literature here is assured as a resource which makes possible the communication between fiction and fantasy and as a sine qua non condition to overcome the anxiety.
