Summary/Abstract: According to the literature and the data obtained by analyzing the entomological collection of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Tuzla,Department of Biology, the presence of diurnal butterflies was confirmed in several locations of north-eastern Bosnia. Entomological collection was created during field studies of butterflies by the students, and during the preparation of their graduation and master thesis. The identification of individual species was carried out with the help of the relevant identification keys. The analysis of the diurnal butterfly fauna, family Nymphalidae and Pieridae from northeast Bosnia showed the presence of 39 species of diurnal butterflies. Stated biodiversity of diurnal butterfly fauna of the study area is 2.3% of the total number of identified species in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which shows a very low degree of exploration of this area. There is very little written information about butterflies in this area.
