They have an in-creased rate of comorbidity and mortality due to their complications and sequelae includ-ing reproductive health, pregnancy, neurological, psychiatric disorders and cancers. Their impact on patients' psychiatric status is certainly present and this article studies the main psychiatric disorders in sexually transmitted diseases. In this regard, neuropsychiatric manifestations in neurosyphilis are represented by delirium, psychosis and dementia. The quality of life of sexually infected individuals is often negatively affected by depression, apathy, attention deficit and alcohol use disorders. Therefore, a complex treatment includ-ing both, social support and psychotherapy, is needed and a multidisciplinary, dermatolog-ical and psychiatric approach is mandatory.
