Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to discuss possible forms of starting business activity in Germany and the sources of their financing. The study takes into account in particular micro and SMEs. The article is a review of information in this respect, with particular regard to the possibility of start-ups financing. The study discusses measures offered within the institutional initiatives for emerging businesses as well as new forms of start-ups financing with participation of private capital, including crowdfunding (social lending) and business angels.
