Summary/Abstract: The article describes the concept of accreditation, including the accreditation of health services and reference them to the concept of certification. In addition, the basic issues of the health care accreditation system are presented. The aim of this article is to determine the level of knowledge of selected health care facility customers on the accreditation, including implemented in the facility. On the basis of the study it is concluded that health care customers have little knowledge on the accreditation and the accreditation is not the main factor determining the choice of health facility.
