Dynamic Information System as a Way of Communicating with the Passenger in Mass Public Transportation

Summary/Abstract: Development of information technologies and their availability caused modern solutions to become increasingly more common in mass public transportation. Modern consumers of mass public transportation are more demanding, forcing the operators to innovate in order to increase quality of transportation services and satisfy the consumers' needs. Most common innovations in mass public transportation are, among others: modern technologies used for service selling, passenger information systems, security monitoring, access to timetables from mobile devices. With application of tools and information-based solutions, numerous improvements can be implemented: increase of service quality, better access to services, and better service management. The article presents some of the modern solutions regarding public collective transportation in the urban areas.
