Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the names of the daily cycle of services in the Orthodox Church, which are available in the Polish language. The majority of terms are borrowed from Old Church Slavonic (such as utrenia, wieczernia, czasy) and are semantical or structural calques (such as powieczerze, liturgia święta, jutrznia, pierwszy czas). Some religious terms of Slavonic origin are used in both Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches (for instance, jutrznia, nabożeństwo). The adaptation of Roman Catholic terminology of Latin origin, for example, msza, nieszpory, kompleta to the modern Polish Orthodox terminology is very interesting.
