Controversies related to the indicator assessment of natural environment – contribution to the discussion

Summary/Abstract: The article proposes the construction of a synthetic indicator which allows the classification of regions according to the achieved level of environmental governance based on the data available in the database BDL GUS. The comparison of results of own calculations and data from the OECD allows to assess, if the inference based on only one variable, as is in the case of OECD report, is consistent with the assessment of environment based on all available in BDL variables. Both approaches lead to very similar conclusions.
