The Statutes of Drisht and the Urban Law at the time of Arbanon

Summary/Abstract: Albanian historiography, in its traditional approach until today, has always argued that, until the period before the European Renaissance, the Albanian urban communities had reached and maintained a level of progress equal to that beyond the Adriatic Sea. As Professor Aleks Buda said, "despite the difficulties of the sources in their piecemeal nature, it can be concluded that Albania, until the eve of the fifteenth century, followed the same pace of economic, social and cultural development as other countries in the Balkan and Adriatic area.
