Summary/Abstract: The author tries to answer the question implied by the title by emphasizing the consequent testimony of the Christian identity in John Paul II. John Paul II not only teaches, but embodies the conviction that "(faith) that does not become culture only embodies faith that is not fully accepted, that unreflected faith, faith faithlessly". An analysis of the texts of John Paul II (as well as those of K. Wojtya) reveals a characteristic thesis for the philosophy of culture: that which the personal self is the most valuable contribution of man to culture. Philosophical anthropology, faithful to the experience of the person whose author is K. Wojtyla, makes it possible to unveil the greatness of the existing man in his possibilities and at the same time to better understand the condition of the concrete man. impotence to realize fully and independently the possibilities of one's personal nature. Such a philosophical anthropology must be completed by theological anthropology. It is thanks to Jesus Christ that the full realization of humanity is possible. It is He who brings a definitive answer to the question, who is the man. Christ - Redemptor hominis is Redeemer of the human "me". John Paul II, indefatigable spokesman for this truth becomes spokesman of theological anthropology and, at the same time, the great promoter of man and culture.
