Improvement of resources and processes quality effi ciency use in healthcare with the lean management concept

Summary/Abstract: The limited funding of health care units resulting in liabilities of hospitals, long queues of waiting or dissatisfaction of patients with the care provided in the Polish health care system necessitates changes. In addition to the need to increase the financing for health care, attention should also be paid to improving resource efficiency. This can be achieved through the use of lean management. This article presents the possibilities of using this concept in Polish health care units and creates critical success factors and examples of key performance indicators (KPIs).
