Summary/Abstract: In the first part of the article authors presents the synthetic definition of innovationand the roots of innovations creation. In the next part the definition and types of suggestionssystems are being presented and defined. There is also the definition of continuous improvementidea – kaizen. In the final part authors presents the issue of functioning of the employeesuggestion systems in the context of creating innovation in Polish enterprises. The aimof the article is to show the role of employee ideas as an internal source of innovation in theenterprise. The conclusions are based on interviews with the managers responsible for thefunctioning of the suggestions systems in their companies.
