Role of a bank for realization of investment in healthcare industry

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to determine the specifics of the bank’s provision of financing services for complex investment projects (in the financial project and public-private partnership implemented in the formula), in the light of the latest paradigm regarding the role of the bank in the economy. This is the bank’s paradigm as a legitimate intermediary in risk management on commission (delegated risk manager). The article presents the usefulness of Polish banks financing investment projects, particularly innovative in the healthcare industry. First the assumptions of indicated paradigm are presented, then the conditions for the realization of the investment project in the Polish healthcare are discussed, occurring in the banking industry and the healthcare industry. In the final part the following conclusions are presented. There are no solutions for banking products based on irregular repayment schedules. There is also a need for a different type of knowledge and skills of bank employees in the area of risk assessment of an innovative undertaking, including project feasibility assessment.
