Summary/Abstract: In the pastoral teaching of the pope addressed to all men of good will one can see systematically the interest shown in the dignity and role of women in human society during the period of modern transformations. The first part of the article presents the evolution of papal teaching about women. The author emphasizes the consequences with which John Paul II develops this subject and shows its prophetic character which sometimes predicts the results of contemporary conferences (Kaïre, Pekin). The second part analyzes the last documents of the pope: Message on the occasion of the XXVIII Day of Peace - on January 1, 1995 - the woman-educator of life in peace and the letter to women (of June 29, 1995).
