The municipal investment capacity in the podkarpackie voivodeship

Summary/Abstract: The article aims to assess the municipal capacity to finance investments in Podkar¬packie Voivodeship and to compare these abilities with those possessed by the rest of Polish municipalities. The analysis covers the period from 2012 to 2014. Besides factorial analysis comparative one was applied by the use of the synthetical measure. Although the synthetical measure did not indicate significant differences between different types of municipalities, it did implicate that urban municipalities were in the most favorable position. Accordingly, rural communities had the lowest ability to develop. They were characterized by poor financial independence and low capacity to finance investments - both from their own income and outer financial sources.
