Summary/Abstract: In this paper we have taken into account a part of the handwritten heritage stored in Gazi Husrev-bey Library in Sarajevo, which was created in Montenegro or as a result of the activities of scribes and authors from Montenegro. The manuscripts, with the exception, in this case, of Gašević’s translation of Suleyman Celebi’s Mevlud, are written in classical languages of the Islamic Orient: Arabic, Persian and Turkish. In our oppinion, information on donors and former owners of certain manuscripts, also from this area, were not without importance. An insight, almost completed and composed of isolated parts of different collections, into the manuscript heritage in oriental languages , written in Montenegro or created as a result of authorial and scribal activities of people originating from Montenegro, will be provided in further research, following the trail of cataloguing and previous studies.
