Summary/Abstract: The purposes of this paper are: estimating the revealed comparative advantage in Polish trade and comparing the structure of Polish exports with the comparative advantage in years 2000–2014. The classical RCA and modified RCADVA (based on the measuring foreign trade in value added) indexes were used for estimating the revealed comparative advantage. The analysis shows that in years 2000–2004 the comparative advantage measuring by RCADVA index was lower than by classical index, in years 2005–2010 it was higher than by RCA, in years 2011–2014 the situation measured by RCA and RCADVA was comparable. The calculations show also that the correlation between the share of particular goods and services in Polish exports and the revealed comparative advantage index (RCADVA) was moderate. The structure of Polish exports was not quite in accordance with the disposing of the comparative advantage in foreign trade. Taking into account the revealed comparative advantage, Poland should export more services but it should not export the most machines, equipment and chemicals (which had a significant share in total Polish exports).
