Summary/Abstract: The article addresses several issues related to the teaching profession. Special attention is paid to professional pedagogical training of the teacher. One of the main objectives of school education today is the provision of better educational opportunities for all children. The good teacher is also a positive model of pro-social behavior, values and norms. Thus the teacher and the school become a major factor of social change.
