Summary/Abstract: There are the special features of the flow of the national dance culture in the system of historical and cultural knowledge worked out in the work. Also, the work is based on the materials of the interview of the national artist of Ukraine, the main ballet master of the folk-ritual ensemble “Rodoslav” – R. Malynovsjkyj who started gathering the folk materials in different expeditions since 80-s. Moreover, the work opens the specificity and originality of the creativity of different professional folk dance groups, of their attitude towards national dancing and performing traditions, as well as the different interpretations of the folk sources and leading tendencies of the Ukrainian dance art. There are various forms of performing orientation on the folk traditions typical for Zhytomyr region presented: creativity with the traditional foundation in folk dance groups; folk performing through diverse scene forms. The research is interesting not only because of the study of the main forms of the existence of folk dancing in the professional dance groups of Zhytomyr region, but also by being these research used in the process of studying in different educational institutions.
