Comparisons in Karavelov's fiction

Summary/Abstract: The fictional work of Lyuben Karavelov is an indisputable stage in the development of narrative forms in the new Bulgarian literature. In terms of the comparison as a stylistic figure, Karavelov is an innovator. The article investigates the ways in which Karavelov uses comparisons, and makes an attemp to classify their uses based of their typical manifestations. The aim is not to provide a detailed description of the uses, but to systematize some types of comparison.
