Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the opportunities for the implementation of the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET), in the context of the Lifelong Learning Process. There it is clarified the nature, the origin and the development of ECVET as an initiative within the European Union, that influences the contemporary dimensions of the vocational education, both for school-students and adult learners. A particular attention is paid to the problem of continuing vocational training as a form of the non-formal learning, targeted at improving to improve the professional competency of the employees and the provision of conditions for successful realization on the labor market.
