Summary/Abstract: Introduction: The incidence of cardiovascular disease has the character of a global epidemic, which is a serious socio-economic problem. Content of article: Actual the guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology include activities focused on prevention strategies of cardiovascular diseases. The paper provides an overview of the options for preventive strategies for risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Behavioral risk factors include, in particular, dyslipidemia, arterial hypertension, smoking, diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, obesity and physical inactivity. Conclusion: The strategy focuses especially on increasing health literacy of the population, behavioral risk factors and reduce mortality from cardiovascular disease patients.
