Summary/Abstract: Introduction: The aim of the research was to evaluate the factors of psychological workload of nurses. Material and Methods: The sample of respondents consisted of 104 nurses working in departments anesthesiology and intensive care unit. To measure psychological strain, Meister's questionnaire for neuropsychological strain was used. Results: Overall, nurses showed a second degree of mental workload. Critical median values were exceeded in items: Time constraints and Long term work. In comparison with the population norm, the critical values in factor I. were exceeded in the nurses. Conclusion: Increased mental workload can negatively affect nurse's health and work performance.
