Summary/Abstract: In this research, the concept of coincidence and its effects on the process of creation in visual arts was focused on. Visual artists take advantage of coincidence during the process of creating their compositions in many ways effectively. They prefer exploiting coincidence and irregularity for many reasons for the purpose of originality and creativity. The concept of coincidence is a creative and desired component of fiction for the visual artists that prefer it. Various artistic forms that occur by means of coincidence generate new starting points by interactional movements for artists as a dynamic and creative component. This exceptional creative circumstance of coincidence was experienced by numerous artists. Furthermore, some visual artist make use of coincidence directly in their artworks as virtuoso and they created originative and reformist works even beyond the expectations. On the other hand, some of the artists that make use of coincidence are not advocate of complete domination of irregularity and lack of control on their works. There are several discussions on our concept and its effects on the process of artistic creativity and still there are many obscurities. Observation and examination of experimentations of artists can somewhat brighten us in point of effect caliber of coincidence on artworks. In this research, literature review, observation, interview and pictorial analysis was preferred as method. In the first part of the research, the concept of coincidence was evaluated by means of limiting on work of arts of painters, history and philosophy. In the second part that generates the empirical section of the research, some paintings which were produced by means of coincidence were considered. Samples of the research are three students that get fine arts education. This participants produced artworks with accompany of music for a minute by painting brush and indian ink on fourty work sheets that were preconditioned by means of coincidental stains and lines. As a result, it can be said that visual artists generally consider the concept of coincidence as an important component of inner and formal creation especially on their modern artworks but they are not supporter of total domination of coincidence. It was observed that the participants correlated the coincidental forms with their own inner life and accordingly they created new fictions on artworks, besides, they preferred adaptable drawings and coloring instead of changing the first form when they commenting clear-cut and undefined contour lines.
