The fragmented Bulgarian socialist reality – taboos, lies and truths in the novel of Ilija Trojanov „Macht und Wiederstand” (“Power and resistance”)

Summary/Abstract: The novel of Trojanow, fragmented into four storylines, reveals the suffering of the victims of the power structures of the communist regime in Bulgaria and the cruelty with which these structures destroyed the resistance of dissidents. In this article is presented one of the four storylines, which comprises stories from different years in the period 1944-1971. In the stories are visible various taboos and various manifestations of lie - distortion of truth, misinformation, forgery, hypocrisy, talebearing, servility etc.
