Summary/Abstract: The first years of Bauhaus happen to be inside the period where the concept of crafts has been scorned as a result of mechanization, industrialization, and social developments. Architects and artists who began studying different fields because of the variety in idea and arts following the modernizm movement, contributed much to this disintegration. The production of unaesthetic mass products has caused the construction of constitutions that intend to unify crafts and design. Bauhaus design school found in 1919 in Germany, has been reknown all over the world with its innovative design education approach. The greatest property of Bauhaus is the thinking processes where crafts are transformed into design. Through these processes many world famous master craftsmen and artisan have created design experiments by sharing their own theories with their students. For this reason, the objective of this research was to investigate the craft workshops of Bauhaus, which were founded by Walter Gropius after the First World War, together with their curriculum and the prepatory courses known as die Vorkurs, since Bauhaus has pioneered for interactive and multidisciplinary design education approach, preparing a medium of contributive workshop of crafts and design.
