Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article titled ”Institution of consumer bankruptcy in the Polish legal system – the most important regulatory changes” is the introduction and analysis of the most important changes in the institution of consumer bankruptcy in Polish law. The study opens up the explanation of the term consumer and consumer bankruptcy in the context of the subject taken. Subsequently, the most important dates, the attempt to determine the causes of excessive consumer indebtedness, the analysis of changes in legal regulations introduced in 2014 and in 2015 found a place among the considerations. The aim of the undertaken analysis was to present the most important changes introduced to the regulation of consumer bankruptcy institutions and the assessment of their effectiveness.
