Legal status and competences of bodies of the national bank of Poland

Summary/Abstract: The subject of consideration of the article titled Organization and operation of the National Bank of Poland are legal acts that are the basis for the organization and operation of the National Bank of Poland. The first part of the article presents the regulations contained in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland and in the Act on the National Bank of Poland relating to the functioning of the financial institution in question. The second part of the article covered the appointment and functions of the organs of the National Bank of Poland with an indication of the possibility of their cancellation. The aim of the analysis was to present the current state of the organization and operation of the National Bank of Poland and postulates regarding changes that could strengthen its position as an institution implementing monetary policy.
