Summary/Abstract: The journal Host do domu (1954–1970) was not the periodical of a particular group or generation. While in the 1950’s, it was greatly influenced by the ideology of the time, in the 1960’s it became one of the most thought-provoking cultural journals of the period. Over the period 1950–1970, the personnel and working co-operation between the journal’s editorial team and the literary and drama editorial team of Czechoslovak Radio in Brno served to considerably improve the programming level of the radio station. Thus it was not only superior to the level of other regional radio stations, but also above the level of the Prague branch of Czechoslovak Radio of that period which was, particularly in the first half of the 1950’s, managed almost entirely from an ideological basis.
