Summary/Abstract: The article touches upon the issue bordering on pedagogy and philosophy, by revolving around the question about the role of good or value in education. An argument for good – good is such an aspect of being (actuality), through which an individual educates another individual and him or herself. An argument for values – the presence of, inter alia, such phrases as “education through values”, “education towards values” in literature. Thus, the article is an attempt at seeking the answer to the question whether values really exist, or whether particular “goods” are the only, concrete “beings”. The conclusion – in a realistic approach on the basis of philosophical pedagogy – is included in the following words: a specific good‑goal educates one, whereas goods‑means support a pupil in achieving the goal.
