METAPHORIC INVESTIGATION OF TARGET CONCEPT: VENUS STAR CASE

Summary/Abstract: Metaphor use is 'thinking' thus a different 'vision”. Image schemes are created in the metaphorical sense of the target concept. Conceptual metaphors and image schemas are elements of metaphorical thinking. Metaphorical thinking also makes confidential comparison between two things that share common characteristics. It turns into a metaphorical expression In the comparison process as a holistic representation. In this study, the conversion of metaphorical sense as the target concept into metaphoric expressions by being interpreted in the transfer process was discussed. In this process, relational Examination of cultural characteristics of the metaphorical sense to which it is connected was evaluated. Relational survey method was used examining the metaphor concept in its historical process. Relational interpretation of mythological perception of Venus star In Turkish mythology as target concept and mythological perception of Venus star as the target concepts in the Western world was aimed as the sampling of the study.
