Thematic Play of Six‑Year‑Olds as a Form of Communicating Values

Summary/Abstract: The author of the article present the essence of thematic play in the development and in supporting the development of a child at a preschool age in the context of actions undertaken by a teacher. In the authors’ opinion, the said actions ought to be aimed at taking steps towards imbuing values with proper sense, whereas the factor conditioning the success of those actions is early, oriented stimulation already being implemented in pre‑school facilities. A teacher’s duty is to provide a child with the material (in the form of traditions, personal testimony) which will enable it to make the correct choice dependent upon the advantages of our presentations of the world of values. The respect towards the pupil as revealed in this course of action consists in a dialogue relation and understanding for the child’s choice. This is aided by thematic plays which ought to become a point of departure for creating such situations.
