Summary/Abstract: Today social networks offer a new infrastructure for public media and public policies. Thanks to them are being created promises about a more direct democracy due to the immediate electronic voting, popular referendums, exit-polls etc. The last elections in Albania showed a growing tendency of using the internet but in difference with other countries and politicians, the candidates here used it more as a window where they could expose their daily activities instead of interacting with the public, who is more used than using the information. Communication happens vertically and not horizontally, same as they used the traditional media, a tendency that was evident during the electoral race of 2015 in Tirana, between Erion Veliaj and Halim Kosova.
