Saints Constantine and Helena in the Russian Folk Magic

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the images and magical functions of Saints Constantine and Helena in Russian charms. We show that the image of these important saints in Russian folklore is different from their image in the popular tradition on the Balkans. Our description of their characters is based on a formal scheme that was developed for the future vocabulary of names and characters in the East Slavic magic.
