The increase in labor market participation rates of older workers the condition for mainteining productivity in economic developed countries

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the paper was to show how important for productivity growth are activities aimed at developing a country’s ability to mobilize human capital resources, which is carried by older workers. The research method was mainly analysis of reports on the aging workforce in developed countries and own research carried out on a group of 181 countries for the years 1990–2016. The research results confirmed that, according to the theory of economic development, the more educated and in better health condition silver labor force of developed countries can be a determinant of the productivity growth of an economy.
