INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF "GRANDPARENTS SCHOOL" (NİNE VE DEDE OKULU) TRAINING PROGRAM PARTICIPATED BY GRANDPARENTS

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the current study was to investigate the effect of the Grandparents School training program participated by grandparents. The study's working group consisted of 16 grandparents, 10 grandmothers and 6 grandfathers, participating in the Grandparents School, which was organized by a private hospital in Ankara between 2016-2017 years. As the data collection tool, Grandparents School Satisfaction Survey was used for quantitative data and Grandmothers and Grandfathers Interview Form was used for qualitative data. The grandparents in the test group was applied Grandparents School training program with 4 sessions. As a result of the research, it has been determined that all grandmothers and grandfathers feel lucky to participate in this training program and that they recommend this training to other grandmothers and grandfathers. In addition, in the direction of grandmothers and grandfathers who participated in the training, awareness and conscious, up-to-date information, and prevention of intergenerational conflict were positively influenced.
