Summary/Abstract: The armed forces of Poland are one of the pillars of the security of the country. Currently, as a member of both NATO and the European Union, Poland might be required to engage soldiers in defending against military threats, or they may be involved in non-military activities for the benefit of the country and its allies. The primary role of the armed forces is to perform tasks to maintain security, but they also help in preventing situations which can be considered as dangerous both in a country and outside its territory, all in accordance with the strategy of the NorthAtlantic Pact. The development of civilization, technical progress, as well as the progressive globalization of the contemporary world necessitate the introduction of changes to match the scale and nature of threats. The aim of the article is to analyse the participation of Polish Armed Forces in NATO and in the European Union in crisis situations and to suggest improvements to this system in terms of the use of the armed forces. Each of the member states bears the responsibility for providing full logistics support for their armed forces, as well as for compatibility in both international and NATO-led operations.
